Hi all,

I am new to this board and my new apartment here in Vienna. A week or so ago I got all my furniture and put it all together. I like it but I feel a but cold with the lack of color. Since this apartment is not really very big(42m2) I don't want to use a heavy color but I really like red, China red is one that I really like. I have selected some very bland colored furniture so that I could accecnt them later with throw pillows or just wall color. I have Ikea (I am a student) stuff that is...I guess birk wood, light tone wood. Some parts have white drawers and shelves. I also have a white chair and a gray couch that seats 2-3(I would have had to wait 6 weeks for the couch in another color). I have a a streight wall that goes from the kitchen area to the living area(there is no division) and I was thinking of painting that. So after all that does anyone have any suggestions? Should I post pics?

it might be neat to paint one wall in the China red, and leave the rest a neutral of some sort (white, cream, gray, taupe, etc). if you chose the one wall that runs from both the Living Room to the Kitchen, that would unify those 2 spaces & make the whole space seem bigger.

what's the flooring?

That's a good idea! The floor is a floated fake hardwood floor, it's fairly standard. Its not as light colored as the Birke(German name for the wood color of the furniture).

wood floors are good & neutral, so you're free to do pretty much anything. i really do like the idea of one wall in the red. go for it!! :D
