Hi Can anybody help me in finding specs for valve (cam chain) timing on my Yamaha Beartracker?

Chrashed piston by overturning(unbelievable rpmīs) by little kid in first gear.

Replaced and now need to adjust cam timing to get going again.
Please help.

HanZi,

If you haven't found your info yet, try your local dealer and see if they can photo copy the cam timing page for you. Usually there are reference markes on the cam that line up with the cylinderhead gasket surface when the piston is at top dead center. I'm not familiar with your Yamaha but if you look closely you should see some sort of timing marks. Let us know what you find. Sean :)

Hi
I havent found anything yet. I found the timing marks, 1 on camshaft and 1 on crank. Are they supposed to point towards or away from eachother? Or??

I havent been able to find a local dealer (Iīm in Denmark) that have a hardcopy, and they wont let me have CD copy.

Any help is highly appreciated Soon please. :)
