I have an Electrolux "Elux-o-matic 89" vacuum cleaner that has worked great for years. I'm trying to find an owners manual for this unit. It has a dial on the front of the canister, but I cannot determine why it's there.

Also, this vacuum has a Eureka E1365G powerhead. Again, this has worked well, but it came time to replace the belt. Upon opening up the unit I discovered that the plastic mount on the bottom of the head for the motor have broken off, and one of the mounts for the cover is also broken. The unit still works OK since the cover seems to hold the motor in place, but I'd like to repair it.

This should be a simple repair if I drill out the mounts and use long bolts with nuts to fasten everthing in, but I'd like to try and find a replacement head, or bottom pan if it's not too costly.

Suggestions anyone? :)

Simple Simon, did you find your manual and any other information? I have the same cleaner and am looking for help with do-it-yourself fixing of the power bar.
