I wish to rebuild the basement entry framework and doors from wood. Where can I find plans? Please help! Looked all day on the web-no design plans to be found. Sincere thanks!

When you call this a "hatchway", I envision it is like a door layed flat in the floor. What are the dimensions? Would a prehung solid core door work? If so, you would have to put one of those heavy duty pnuematic closers on it to prevent it from slamming closed. Using a 1-3/8" door rather than a 1-3/4" door would make it weigh less.
