Hello. We recently replaced the motor coupling on a 1999 Kenmore direct drive washer (model # 110.29852991). The washer wasn't spinning, and the coupling was in fact damaged. Now that the washer has been reassembled, it does spin, but now shakes pretty wildly. It does this even when tub is empty, so it wasn't a matter of an unbalanced load. The legs are in the same position as before, although I suppose they cold have become displaced, but they seem OK. I am wondering if we may have done something (or not) during reassembly, which may be the cause of this shaking. I am afraid to start using the machine again, lest I may damage something else. Any help or suggestions would be truly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello: Stacy R.

Very likely during the reassembly something was done incorrectly. You will need to retrace what was done and determine what is now different than before. May simply be something loose or not not reconnected as was prior.

A balancer may have been knocked out of it' s place or a tensioning spring not reinstalled correctly, etc.

Retail appliance parts dealers can also help determine what the possible problem may be. Bring the make, model and serial numbers. Appliance part stores and parts dealers are listed in the phone book.
