I have a Jenn Air dishwasher, model #JDB6510AWP. Serial #27905471ZU... The wash cycle has a heavy, normal and light setting. Basically when you have it on heavy, it runs through all three, normal does only normal and light, etc... When I run it in the Heavy or Normal cycle, it get through the wash but then sticks before it get out of the normal section and into the "light" section. It continues to wash and never moves past that point. It will run for hours. When I start it in the "light" mode (just past where it gets stuck) it runs fine and continues through the rinse and dry cycle to completion. The unit is only about 2 years old. Any idea's what is wrong with it? I'd like to repair it myself if possible.

Hello: David
Sticking in a cycle is caused by a defective timer. Replacing the timer will solve that problem. Also read the dishwasher help pages in this topic and on the web site.
Retail appliance parts dealers can also help determine what the possible problem may be. Bring the make, model and serial numbers. Appliance part stores and parts dealers are listed in the phone book.

your timer may be bad,but you need to check your schematic for thermal holds, many newer models will heat the water at 1-3 spots.if your water is cold,it may take a long time to heat it,is your heater working ? is the thermostat bad ? some cycles such as hi temp wash/sani rinse etc will add more holds..also before you start the d/w make sure you run the water at the kitchen sink before you start the washer to insure water entering is hot..good luck,,

Hi, I am having the same problem. Can you tell me what you did to fix this? Was it just the timer, or was it a temperature sensor?
Thanks for any help.
