Hi, What a great site!
We just bought a used 1yr old Kenmore 70series electric dryer. When the woman we bought it from started it up for us it didn't make any noise. After driving it home about 10miles and carrying it up a flight of stairs it now squeaks when running. Even when empty. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Hello Balance and Welcome to the Do-It-Yourself Web Site.
One possiblity may be worn pads the drum or tube rotate on. Open the door and with one hand on the front inside of the drum, attempt to lift the drum upwards and from side to side. Should not be much play or movement.
If there is some, may indicate the pads on which that drum or tube rotates on are worn out. In that case, the front panel must be removed and the pads the front of the drum or tube rotate on must be replaced.
Also possible the drum or tube got bounded around some and are just slightly off the pads. Hand rotating and moving the drum or tube may reposition it and the noise will be gone, hopefully. But not likely if the drum or tube pads are worn out.
Other minor problems may have developed as a result of the move and the amount of bouncing around the movement caused. Not likely any severe internal damage done during that move but only an internal check may disclose what is causing the squeaks and or noise.
Additional Help and Suggestions:
Read some of the existing posts in this forum pertaining to dryers with noises and the existing dryer help topic. In them will have additional possible causes along with repairs procedures, etc.
Retail appliance parts dealers can also help determine what the possible problem may be. Bring the make, model and serial numbers. Appliance part stores and parts dealers are listed in the phone book.
