i am trying to decide how to decorate a room with paneling without painting it, i am 4 mo pregnant and also have a little girl who is 3, i would like to put her in the room with panling, but my husband doesn't want it painted since i have painted all the other rooms. does anyone have any suggestions for decorating for a little girl or possibly a nursery for a boy? someone has once mentioned hanging fabric all the way down he wall, anyone else heard of this?

all your help is greatly appreciated!!

are all 4 walls panelled?

if you hate the paneling, you can "upholster" the wall with batting & fabric, or more simply, hang fabric from floor to ceiling, to conceal it. but merely painting it would be easier & cheaper.

however, it'd be easiest to just work with it. when i see paneling, i tend to think of a boy's room. paneling just seems boyish - maybe because it looks woodsy or outdoorsy or something. lots of boy's room themes work well with paneling. paneling looks good with boy's colors, too, and plaids. even nautical themes.

can you just commit to having that be your boy's room?
