About eight years ago we replaced all of our windows with Thermal-Gard's "The Conserver" series of windows. It appears that there is now no one in the area that sells or services Thermal-Gard windows and we have a major problem with one of ours.

Here's the problem. The lower sash of the window was accidentally removed and we are unable to get it back in.

The lower balance/pivot shoe on the right side is fully extended the bottom of the window and the shoe is correctly aligned for placement of the sash pin (fixed pivot bar? -- I'm not sure what the correct terminology is).

The lower balance/pivot shoe on the left side sprang up to a fully retracted position when the pivot shoe was gently rotated in hopes of aligning that shoe for insertion of the sash pin. Now the pivot shoe "slot" cannot be aligned to accept the sash pin and the shoe will not stay down, i.e., extended, where the balance shoe on the right side is.

Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated! The weather will be cold very soon

The shoe is in the unlocked position. Put a flat blade screwdriver into the slot in the shoe and pull the shoe down until it lines up with the one on the right and turn the screw driver to the inside of the window about a 1/4 turn and this should lock the shoe and align the cam to accept the sash pin (pivot bar).

Thanks, Johnam. Your advice synched well with the guidance I eventually received from the Thermal-Gard folks. The sash is back in! As is often the case, many things are simple to do, if you just know how. :)
