Recently, we are experiencing a mildew odor (like wet wood) in our 1/2 bath. We can't find any leaks from the plumbing (sinks,toilet,etc.).
Any ideas what may be causing it? Things to check? How to get rid of it?
Much Thanks

You didn't say how you checked for leaks so I will just advise on what I have seen in the past. The toilet could be leaking around the wax seal and staying contained under the toilet (for now). Can you go underneath where the 1/2 bath is for a better inspection? Could also be a pinhole leak from a pipe in the wall squirting on the wood. Check those things and if that isn't it, repost on this same thread. Good luck.

Thanks for the tips. We checked and it does not appear to be the wax seal. However, a few weeks back we had heavy rains and wind which caused some water to come in through a few slight cracks in the tar patch around the flue. I sealed those cracks, but if it was this that caused the inside wall/wood to get wet, is there anything that can be done?
