A couple months ago, I painted some trim with white semi-gloss latex. Recently, we put in an addition, and on that new trim the contractor used oil-base alkyd semi-gloss white. The oil base looks great--hard, smooth, and just a lot better than that latex I used.

Can I paint over my latex with an oil-base? If so, can it go straight on without a primer?
