If your stall will accept a vinyl insert, this is the simplest repair.
Glued directly to tile.
You cannot paint tile that will exposed to direct water in a shower.

Frank74,
I suggest not trying to place an insert over the existing tiles. This may come back and haunt you later so the right way should be done. Inserts or wall surrounds can be obtained which don't leak for the size you mention. They will not go to 8 feet tall however and you don't need it that way either. I would remove what you have and start from the studs, the correct way. If you desire a 2 or 3 pc shower unit, then frame the opening accordingly. You could still use the existing shower base, depending on what you have.
Hope this helps!

Frank,
You're very welcome! I'm glad you did it that way. That was part of the reason I said it would "haunt" you if you tried to go over existing tiles. In the past, those that have tried to go over tiles, find eventually the tiles start to break loose, then the wall panels come loose and the reason is obvious. It never helps to try and save time and/or money when you have projects like this. At least you can sleep at night knowing that there are no "hidden problems" to worry about later.
Please keep us updated on how you are making out.
Good luck!

Thanks again.
Removing old shower (34x60 and 8 feet) and replace it with walk-in shower (38X38).
it give us more space to our newly remodel bathroom.
I hope this extra space won’t give my wife any ideas.
Also knowing all my corner studs is good now.
It teach me that water can really damage studs...(I was very surprised)
