I've begun researching wood burning inserts for our 40 year old home. We are primarily interested in the heating capabilities and could care less about how the insert looks.

If anyone has had good (or bad) experiences with a particular brand, please let me know. Sorry if this seems like a dumb question, but I research EVERYTHING before I buy.

Thanks!!!

I had an 80's model Buck wood burning insert I liked alot!
But what I didn't like was the CUTTING, Hauling, splitting, stacking, drying, hauling again, and generally making a mess.

I got a propane gas millivolt system and ANOTHER remote control - I'm very happy.
