I had my AC coils on the inside unit cleaned about four months ago and now the unit is freezing over. Could the coils being cleaned cause this. When they cleaned the unit I noticed them Cuttig pipes. Would this cause it to lose freon.

I don't have any idea why cutting pipes should be necessary to clean coils unless that was necessary to gain access. Clean coils are LESS likely to freeze than dirty ones. The first thing to check would be your filters. If the filters have been replaced recently or are squeeky clean already then you could suspect that your system may be low on refrigerant. If so, then there most likely is a leak somewhere, perhaps where they spliced the cut pipes back together. The only way to tell for sure would be to call the A/C guys back for a service call. There could be a leak almost anywhere in the system. Maybe someone ran a screw into a pipe when they put things back together. Who knows. If they are honest, and if the problem was with something they did, they should give you a big break on the service call to fix the problem. Those are a lot of IFs though. Good luck.

Im with jughead call them back now .

Just why did they do this???? This for sure can have a leak in it . Did they vacuum the unit out after they cleaned it and put the lines back. If not they could have contaminated the unit and have noncondensables in it this could also cause it freeze up on you.
