any news on grandaire heatpumps/handlers. they are made by nordyne systems. they use copeland compresors. the equiptment is far less expensive than trane/carrier etc... just wanted to get some feedback?

When they cost less . That means they dont have the guts in them for a good seer or afue. Get 3 bid for the job for sure.

thanks for yalls input BUT 3000 less than a trane/carrier system?that is a huge diff, i know the installer-he is very good. the price is alot less cuz he can get the equiptment for less. i also got a bid on rheem equipt that was quite a bit lower than trane/carrier, your opinions on rheem?
i am having a hard time digesting a 5500 4 ton heatpump/handler that If i save 50.00 a month on my bill....it will take me 9 years to recoup $$$. i am looking for a system the will show me savings in less time that will not break down due to cheap parts etc...
