I have a brick chimney that contains three flues inside.
They are connected to
-oil heater in basement
-fireplace in basement
-fireplace on first floor.
The chimney sat down and had a big vertical crack that was repaired by previous owner. Due to the move some clay flue liners cracked down and fell apart. I do not use fireplaces, but heater is important for me.
To be short the oil heater's flue is missing on the first floor so that I can smell CO (sometimes). Through the fireplace window (first floor) I can see the broken/missing heater's flue. Looks like I can reach it with my hand. Only one piece is missing.
Questions: :confused:
-can I install new flue liner myself without professional?
-if new flue pipe can not go through the fireplace window, can I cut it in half vertically and then put together inside?
-where can I buy 'Clay flue liner'?
-how much it could be to have it installed by professional?
