This morning when I got up I noticed that it felt warmer than it should have and looked at the thermostat. It was 73 degrees and I keep the air on 68-70 degrees. I am 9 months pregnant so I feel hot all of the time now. When I checked the inside fan it was running fine but the outside unit fan was not on at all. The temperature never dropped, but rose steadily. I had a Drs appt and when I got home it was cool in the house again, down to 70 degrees. Well, about an hour ago I noticed that it was warming up again, and it was already 10pm so it should have been cooler. I looked outside and once again the fan out there is off. Right now is a very bad time for it to go out as I will be having my baby next friday and have had to stop working. DHs income is all we have right now and we are having a hard time making the bills even meet. We just dont have the money to call in anyone to check the system out. Is there any pointers that any of you have to where we could maybe pinpoint the problem? Dh went out and checked the breakers but all was fine with them. ANY help at all would be so appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You have so many IFS here. Its down to going in the unit and find out what is going on. About the only thing you can do, is the filter clean, the coil clean. The outside unit clean. You said the fan ran inside so the tstat can be ok and you have 24 volts there. Is the copper lines to the out side the big one cold and wet the little one warm???

Thanks Ed for the reply. It came back on again yesterday after being off all night again. Dh went to work and talked to their a/c tech guy there and he thinks it may be the relay board? DH jumped the a/c and it has been running smooth since. In fact, without that little board in it ( he took it to work today to see if the a/c guy has one like it ) it has been working great! In fact, it is running colder than it ever has and is flipping on and off like it should. It's crazy that without that part it is running even better. He is supposed to get the part today so maybe all will end well. Thanks again for the advice. :)
