After doing a load of wash in our ten-year old KitchenAid clothes washer, I discovered a screw driver in the tub. It had been lying on top of the washer and fell in while we were putting in the load. In subsequent loads, the washer started leaking water, which runs out on the garage floor from underneeth the machine. I am almost certain that the screw driver poked through one of the "drain holes" in the inner basket of the tub (not sure I'm using correct terminology here) and punctured the outer drum (again not sure of correct term). I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions? For example, if I take off the back cover of the machine, will I possibly see the damage and be able to repair it? And what would be the best way to repair a puncture caused by screw driver?
Thanks

Hi,
It sounds like the screwdriver did puncture a whole in the outer tub, you would need a whole new outer tub assembly, very expensive because of the part and labor. Its a big job to replace the outer tub.

You cant access the machine from the back, you have to take the whole cabinet assembly off.
