Hello. I have a relatively old Summit Gas range. The top burners work fine, but the oven and broiler do not work at all. It seems there may even be a slight gas smell from the oven, though not strong if there. I am wondering if this is maybe a simple problem with the igniter for the oven, or if it might be a larger problem. If it is a smaller problem, what can i do to fix it?
Thank you,
Jakob

Hello Jakob and Welcome to the Do It Yourself Web Site and my Gas Appliances topic.

Two problems may exist. If the oven has a pilot light ignition, the pilot may simply be out. Relighting it would than solve boths problems. If the oven has a hot surfact glowing ignitor with a smell of gas, two problems likely exist.

Not totally familar with that brand. But all stoves/ranges are basically the same. Either have one of two types of ignition systems. Which one does your appliance have???

Kindly use the reply button to update this post with the additional ignition system information. We can deal with the slight gas odor smell if the oven does not have a constant burning pilot flame.
