I have a 2001 Kenmore Elite (Whirlpool) dryer that stops during a 'timed' cycle. I disconnected the dryer vent to ensure the exhaust duct is clear ....and it still stops. The dryer will normally run some more after it's cool. Bad thermistor or timer or other?

Thx,
Bob

Do you have to advance the timer in order to make it continue running or will it run by ijust pressing the start button after it cools down? When the dryer shuts off, does the timer continue to advance or does it stop?

It will continue to run after just pressing the start button. When it quits it sounds signal and the timer also stops.

I have replaced the thermistor for grins and am doing a "towel" load right now. So far so good.
