When our central air conditioning system comes on, the inside unit makes several loud banging noises and sometimes seems to shut off for a minute and start up again. It is getting worse. The unit is l7 years old. Please help. Thanks!

Check and see if it is the blower makeing the noise in side

i am with ed, could be motor or wheel.

be sure all returns are open

listen at the unit when this happens. where is the sound coming from?
