I am planning to install a new bathroom exhaust fan. Cubic Feet is 398 which calculates to about 80 CFM. Should grilles be installed at the top of the bathroom door to allow for adequate air flow, or is the space at the bottom of the door (about 1/2 inch) adequate?

Previous fan motor was getting hot and finally just quit altogether.

Id try it and see how it does. If it cant keep the bath clear cut another 1/2" off it.

i would think it would be pulling from under the door and back through the supply a/c vent as well. i have never installed a make up air grille in a bathroom

good question, though. the test will be if the door is pulled closed when barely cracked and the fan on
