My fireplace is an ugly 1920,s tiled creation and I want to cover over it if poss.
The whole mantel hearth and surround is all made up of tiles.
Would I be able to cover the mantel/surround with fireproof MDF and paint or would the heat damage as the tiles go right up to the opening.
Help!
