Hello -
Our Westinghouse washer 'spits' water out of the tub at the top, between the top of the tub and the underside of the top panel. The water then runs down the outside of the tub and eventually onto the floor. It has just begun doing this, and is increasing the amount of water ejected. It spins all water out of the tub, and the belt does not appear to be slipping. Any ideas?

If the lower bearing in the transmission goes out it will cause the drum to rotate too fast during agitation and cent. force will start tossing out water over the top of the tub. Try turning the tub with your hand. If you can turn it only one direction, that is normal. If you are able to rotate it back and forth in either direction, you have a bad transmission, and it is time for a new machine.
