My indoor cat has suddenly decided that he needs to claw his way through my patio screening to get outside. As the patio is due for rescreening anyway, can anyone suggest a type of screening that holds up well to pets?

There is a "pet proof" screen out there, carried by most home improvement stores...but to be honest I found that if the pet is determined enough they can still do damage to it. I ended up having to build a kind of "false" wall, or some call it a "kick board" about two feet high from the bottom. This solved my problem...but my was a dog that kept pushing it out so it may not work as well for you.
