Please let me know all your pet peeves with handheld power sanders!
I am a student working on a project to improve handheld power sanders and I would love to know: What problems have you encountered when using your sander? What do you find annoying about using your sander? What parts of your sander do you like? Any suggestions for improvements in the design of sanders?
Thanks!

One thing about sanders is having the right one for a given task. As an automotive hobbiest I use an in-line sander, a dual action and a jitterbug. Each one has it's own niche. I know this doesn't really answer your question but it is something to think about.
Most systems for holding paper to the pad are frustrating...

BELT SANDER: I love the trigger lock when working for long periods but I hate plugging it in when someone left the trigger locked (those things are fast!!). Can you make it so I don't sand the cord off??? Oh, and make it quiet so I don't loose anymore of my hearing.

ORBITAL SANDER: Everyone make the dust collection holes in the same place. My sander has five holes but the store only stocks the six hole sanding pads... Aargh!!!
