It looks like I wont be able to find fascia covering in black, (pre fabed), so I may have to go with aluminum in brown and paint it black.
I presume the brown is 'baked' onto the aluminum..so do you think I would need to prep/prime the brown b4 I paint it black...or is it safe enough to paint right over the brown.
Im not crasy about painting the brown black, because that seems to defeat the purpose of putting up the fascia covering to begin with..since the new black on brown may have to be painted in the future again.
Whats your take on this.

Scrub it down with TSP to remove the grease, oils, etc. Prime it with a high-quality latex exterior primer. And then paint it with a latex exterior trim paint.

Also you want to scuff it with scotch brite, steel wool, or preferably sand paper (180g).

Holly Sh** man, (if I can say that!!).
Will that process hold for the years to come... OR should I just religate myself to painting the wood fascia every few years??
Thats alot of prep work ...BUT - if it will last for 10+ years...maybe its worth it!?!?!?

Yeah, if done correctly, and good paint is used, it should last for at least 10 years. If you live in exceptionally harsh climate, then expect less.

Isnt that always the case!! lol.
Do you think I should use Tremclad/RustOleum type paint..since it comes in a can to spray on...or roller on a different kind of paint?
