Hey guys, my deck is stained with an oil-based semi transparent stain. And I was wondering, now that winter is coming, do you still get like that thompsons water sealer and go over it with that? Or does the oil stain pretty much do the same thing..thx guys.

Your oilbase stain should repel water.
Thus it may also repel anything else. And putting "T" on top of it would just create a dirty, gummy mess.

Whatever you used originally to seal deck, follow manufacturer's directions. Avoid the T-brand as forum posts and research rank it low in being a good product. Avoid paraffin based sealers. Do some online research for quality sealers. Keep the deck sealed with a high-quality sealer. Research before you purchase.
