I finally got around to checking my switch now that it's dried out. Man, it's gonna be a nice cool breezy day here in Mid. Ga :D
It has two adjustment bolts in it, one big one in the center and a smaller one off to the side. I want to regulate it down from 175 psi to 130 or so.

The one that you want to adjust is the range setting and not the differential.
It may be the larger one but I don't know which control you have.
What's the make and model of the switch?

It's a Square D GHG-2. What does the differential do?
The compressor is high and dry. It's just been raining for the past week or so.
I got my heater wired up today and the friggin' motors burned up. I pulled it apart and found one of the windings corroded in half. Unfortunately I can't get it apart enough to solder it back together. The projects never end...

Couldn't find specific instructions for yours but the Square D switch on my water pump is likely the same.
I would turn the large screw counter clockwise to lower the setting.
Maybe try 2 full turns and see where the pressure goes.
Make sure you write down the number of turns in case you have to return to the original setting and watch the pressure in case it goes the wrong way.
The small screw which should be the differential, sets the spread between the on and the off.

I got it. 2.5 turns out got it to switch at 90 and 120. I think this makes a little more sense than 140/175.
I'm real happy with the whole air project. This larger compressor is actually quieter than my old consumer grade Porter Cable and I've learned a lot rebuilding it. Plus it was fun.
Now that the shop is up to speed I need to get back to work on my car. The garage was supposed to be my auto shop but it's turned int a hobby itself!!
