i just moved into a new house and i need to install a dishwasher. i have to remove some cabinets to do so. i need to know if there is a proper distance from the sink to dishwasher for draining. the reason is the only place the dishwasher can go is about 5 cabinet doors away, about 8 feet. it also needs to make a 90 degree turn. please advise and thanks in advance.

First, check with your Building Inspection Department for local codes, permit and inspection requirements.
A dw requires a dedicated 110v electrical circuit, a hot water (only) supply line, a drain line to a trapped and vented drain line (usually to the kitchen sink drain assembly), and possibly a countertop-level air gap in the drain line, if required locally.
Since you're going to have to run a new circuit from the panel to behind the dw anyway, use a 20 amp breaker with 12/2-with-ground wiring circuit in case you or someone in the future decides to install a heavy-duty dw.
If your kitchen is over a crawlspace or basement, it may be easier to run everything from underneath, or you can run the supply line (with separate shut-off valve) and drain line through the back of the cabinets to the sink base.
If you need more specific help, just come back on this same thread and ask.
Good luck!
Mike

First, measure the distance that the drain line will be, taking into consideration that it will run through base cabinets, at the bottom shelve, following the wall, than up to the sink deck.
Contact the tech. dept. for the mfg. to verify that the distance does not exceed the discharge pumps ability to properly function.
