Hi. Instead of going through all of the labor, the most significant cost, of just pulling out an old typical 60" x 30" cast iron tub and replacing it with same, I want to give us more room to take a shower. Tub is surrounded on three walls so my plan is to get a wirlpool bath such as an American Standard 60" x 36" and put it in. It has a removable skirt. Other than moving the drain over a bit, do you see any problems? This will work with a shower and will not gather water in unwanted areas as some whirlpools will.
This may be wishfull thinking also but, will the slightly greater height of the whirlpool bath make for an easier install-covering up a few inches of damaged tile from removal of the old tub?

Hello: Alucard41
Since the nature of your questions has to do with the removal of the old tub and an installation of a new whirlpool tub with clearances as the main issue, I moved your question into this forum topic.
