I have a steel entry door with a full length double-paned window, with a plastic external trim. There is a gooey substance bleeding out from the lower corners of the window and down the door.

Is this the sealant around the glass bleeding out? What causes this? Is this a bad thing, or just ugly?

Sometime excess sealant will leak out. Usually, it will harden enough to remove with a knife.
