I have a large, free standing, wood burning fireplace that sits between my dining and living rooms. It has doors on both sides so you can see the fire from either room. I would like to make it a more efficient alternative heat source and have searched the web for inserts that have two doors, opposite each other. Have any of you out there seen such a thing, and have info about them.
Because I have had no luck with this so far, I have been thinking about installing a hearth heater blower system. Any remcommendations?

No, it's a big custom, brick fireplace. I don't think there would be any manufactured parts. (?)

I recommend a fireplace from xxxxxxxxxxx that’s a boiler as well. It has high thermal efficiency (up to 82 %) and it is connected to the central heating to deliver the heat from the fireplace to all places of your house and it provides hot water as well. This invention was just what I was looking for to get rid of oil or gas bills. No interior stonework or cinder blocks are necessary.
The casing is up to your fantasy and can be inserted into an old fireplace.
Who it works: The fire in the xxxxxxxx fireplace heats up the water-cooled surfaces. Then hot water is pumped to the central-heating boiler, automatically switching off the burner at a pre-determined temperature. As long as the fire burns the fireplace keeps my entire home warm. Should the fire die down and the water temperature drop too low, the burner automatically restarts. That’s comfort! With this fireplace I’m feeling independent from the oil market and can save costly oil. That’s definitely a reason to relax and to enjoy the coziness of a real fire.
All necessary safety devices are installed. The large firing area allows for bigger pieces of wood to be burned, doing away with annoying and burdensome wood chopping and sawing. Furthermore fireproof glass doors are included too.

Have you considered a pellet stove insert? Allot less work than wood, cheaper too.
