I bought a used Adrmiral side-by-side that works great, except the icemaker. As I underatand it, all you have to do is plumb the unit and turn the fridge on for the icemaker to work. It is proprely plumbed, but there is a small valve (cylindrical with electrical contacts) mounted underneath the fridge that allows the water to flow to the ice unit. This valve appears to be frozen, dead or whatever. In any case, no water will flow through this valve.
I dismantled the valve and it apears to be undamaged. Any ideas where to find a replacement? or is there some troubleshooting tips anyone can provide? I can provide digital pics of the unit in question if that would help. I looked for a model/serial number for the fridge but there is none to be found.
Thanks!

Is voltage getting to the magnetic coil on the fill valve? If so, how much? Have you ohmed the coil to see if it is open or shorted? Many times the coil will burn out because the valve machinism is jammed. Can you send a pic of the front end of the icemaker with the cover removed?
