I was in my local Big Lots! store the other day and found that they sell small quantities of paint made by a company called Long Life (established 1800's?). It sells for around $6-$8 a gallon. I was wondering if anyone has ever taken a chance on this paint, and how did it work out? I know the old sayings, "You get what you pay for" and "Always buy the most expensive paint you can afford", etc. but just thought I'd ask and see what people's experience was. Maybe it would be OK for doing the inside of a garage or other "non-critical" area?

Never heard of it. Can't hurt to testdrive it in non-critical areas as you say, like the garage or something

Even though the company started in the 1800s, doesn't mean that the paint was canned then!! If you see that it's latex based paint. It's fairley new in the can/bucket. ( Oil, a little older ).
Just because it's in a Big Lots store, really doesn't mean much other than they are unloading some stock, or a bankruptcy was involved etc. The paint "might" be the best paint you ever came across but only YOU can tell after testing in an unimportant area.
My input would be " Try it, if you like it, then get as much as you need!!!
