Hey there, I just bought a new house and the renovation is done. I started off painting the room PLASTER CEILING last week and it turned out to be awful. Uneven, patches of paint here and there. Just what went wrong? It’s much less obvious when I try applying white on the plaster ceiling. It's a brand new plaster ceiling and I was using Glidden Wall Sealer paint for the first 2 layers, and mixed of Lavender Vinyl paint and Wall Sealer for the 3rd layer. It turned out to be a mess. H E L P !
1.) What should I do next?
2.) What is the right paint to use?
3.) Any special technique or tools to fix the problem?
4.) Will paint effect (Cloud, sponge) on the plaster ceiling covers the flaw n look good on plaster ceiling?
5.) I painted one of the short wall lavender and the rest of the walls are orchid white. What color will suit my plaster ceiling most? And Cornice too.
I'm having problem with the intersection area between two walls of contrast colors too. The wall corner section isn't a sharp 90 degree. I have difficulty making a straight line between the intersection areas. Masking tape doesn't work as I'm using Dulux Pearl Glo. I tried using masking tape and make a straight line. But the taped part pealed off right while I was trying to take off the masking tape. It's another mess again. H E L P ! Btw, I'm 22 years old and this is My First Time. :o

Joneq always likes to help the young ladies. I think that you shouldn't have mixed the sealer with the paint. Two different animals. I am assuming the plaster was cured properly. If I was you I think I would recoat everything that looks like crap, seems to be just the ceiling with some primer sealer like zinsser bullseye 123 or if you have enough of the glidden sealer that hasn't been mixed with the paint use that. Just get close to the wall ceiling intersection you don't have to get perfect. This will lock in the surface and give you a fresh start. then paint with whatever you want to use. If the only thing wrong with the walls is where it peeled while pulling off the tape. Prime that area sand a little and filll with some joint compound or some lightweight patching product. Then sand it a little and prime. Do the patch work first so you will only have to whip out the primer once. Then paint the ceiling and don't dilly dally like girls do[talking and stuff]. Put plenty of paint on the 3/4 nap roller and go for it. Try not to go over places that you have already done dang-it,but overlap a little where you left off. You may have to paint the whole wall where the paint peeled though. Let the paint on one wall dry completely before you try to tape. Use low tack tape and pull it off slowly and straight down toward the floor not out toward you.
