My girlfriend has a craftsman self-propelled mower with the 6 (or is it 6.5?) hp engine. It's only about 2 years old. It has recently developed a problem - after the engine warms up, the engine cuts out and stops running. She won't get more than 100 - 200 feet before it dies. The engine won't restart until it cools down. We tried different gas, a new air filter, and new spark plug. After replacoing all these things, it ran fine for one mowing but developed the problem again the next time she tried to mow her lawn. the oil is at the right level and was changed this spring. The engine sounds fine and appears to run normally until it dies. Any ideas what the problem could be? Thanks

Jeremy

Hello Jeremy!

Check for spark at the spark plug when it dies. If you don't have any, but after it cools, you have spark again, then you need to replace the coil. Let us know what you find!
