I have a Home Depot DIY (Tiling 1-2-3) book on how to build a Custom shower pan. it says to build the threshold using pressure treated wood.
is it necessary to use pressure-treated wood? i thought pressure-treated wood is mainly used for outdoor use. Never for indoor use.
thanks

If the threshold is to take any type of moisture whatsoever,,,,then I would use as recommended. The cost difference between the two products is minimal in relation.

It'll have a liner on top, then backerboard, then tile. the tile surface will get wet fo sure..

They might be thinking in the rare case that the liner fails.......or someone missing a step in the application.
I would try this question in baths to see what response is given.
