As I am a senior, and alone, must come to forums for advice like this.
I have a resin stump, with a faucet, would like to make water come out faucet, which can be hooked up to a hose. However, I don't want the hose to be running all the time, hence my thought of perhaps a solar pump for the purpose, and perhaps a reservoir for the water, somewhat like recycling the waters in your ponds.
Could something like this be done, and what would I look for, say at Menards, Home Depot, Farm/Fleet, those kinds of serious hardware stores?
Many thanks for any replies, can send direct to

Shaddy,
Do you want the faucet to be running all the time or just when you turn on the tap?

Shaddy,
I really don't think inexpensive solar anything for the home consumer is worth a hoot.
An alternate would be to try and find a small low voltage pump and then simply buy a small outdoor light transformer of the same voltage, usually 24v. Then all you do is set the timer for the times you want to pump the water.
They are popular in the UK, but you may have to hunt on the internet to find a small lv water pump.
Find out here if the pump comes with a transformer/timer:
