Hi,
I have a 19' Four Winns with a '95 OMC Cobra 5.0L. I suddenly had trouble shifting back and forth and found the problem was a broken stopper nut? that is located on the brass portion of the cable near the control arm which keeps the outer cover still while the inner cable travels to the shift housing. It is a little plastic piece shaped like a cylinder which broke cleanly in half.

Is there anyway to replace this piece without changing the whole shift cable, and if not, how hard is it to remove/replace the shift cable? Thanks for any input.
Brett

Might try at www.defender.com they have cables and some parts for Teleflex cables.
