I desparately need some advice! The hot water faucet on by bath tub will not stop leaking. It has gotten to the point of basic running slowly all of the time now. I have changed washers, the valve stem and seat and the leak will not stop. None of the water leaks out of the piping, it's all through pipes and into the tub via the spout. The tub is upstairs, so it's pretty easy to tell nothing is leaking on to the first floor. The tub and walls are also a single unit so I'm not real fond of the idea of having to go into the walls to replace hardware. Am I missing something or am I destined to get into the the walls to replace some of the pipes? (The house was built in '77 and I've been it since '99 and the leak started as a slow, barely noticable drip about a year ago.)
Thanks

Done all you can do to solve the problem last a final thing to do is replace the entire valve.

Hi,The leak may be between the threads on the seat and valve try some teflon tape on the threads and if that does't work try plumber Goop or I've seen it done with epoxy. You've nothing to lose.
