hi everyone, i am about to lay click laminate flooring.
i have the flooring, beading, underlay etc
i have lifted my carpets and discovered almost brand new underlay. (from memory this was pretty expensive) anyway, i wondered.. can i use this as my laminate underlay or is it to soft? the underlay i have is a thin foam type, but wondered if the old stuff for my carpet would be as good if not better?

not sure if this is a daft question, i just thought that if too soft it may split the lips of the interlocking grooves

many thanks for any advice in advance... :)

Carpet pad is too soft. Flex causes the T&G to fracture and the top edges to chip.

The floor will fall apart fast.

It has to go. Someone might recycle foam in your area. Or you can find a use for it if your a pack rat.
