I see a great deal of reference to using waterstones for sharpening chisels. I'm wondering why I see no reference to using stones lubricated with oil? I've used both to hand sharpen my wood chisels and I much prefer oil.

Am I missing something?

I have always used a bench grinder to sharpen my wood chisels, then I use a stone lubricated with WD40 to get a razors edge.
