I am attempting to install a new light fixture in a bathroom, however, the wiring is the typical 'blk n white' running directly from the switch. Of course the fixture has the additional ground wire. I know what to do with the ground wire but in this case there is NO place to attach it, only the wire with the 'blk n white' is present hanging through a hole. Any suggestions?

If there is a grounding wire in the box, attach your fixture grounding wire to it.

Else, if the box is metal, use a real green grounding screw (not a sheet metal screw) to attach the fixture grounding wire to the box.

Else, leave the fixture grounding wire unconnected, taking steps to ensure it doesn't accidentally touch anything it shouldn't.

There is absolutely no metal fixture, just wire. I connected the hot and cold as usual and attached the ground to the back plate of the lights fixture... If you smell smoke...come a running... :D
