I just bought this house a few weeks ago and in the 2nd bathroom when i turn on the shower i get a horrible noise comming from the wall (sounds like a grinding sound) also when the shower is on alot of water is still coming from the tub faucet. Also, it also does this is the master bathroom (not as often though). Please help.

"Grinding" is not a term usually heard about plumbing so I am at a loss there. The diverter for the tub/shower valve probably needs to be replaced to make the water go to the location you are wanting.Good luck and post back.

YUP...That sounds more familiar. Bumping and grinding only go together at the bars.(Did I say that?)The lines are probably not secured inside the walls. They need to be strapped to the studs to keep from moving around. Not sure if you can stand the noise for long but the only way to correct it is to open up a wall and tie the lines to some sort of blocking.Good luck and post back.

since it only does it when the shower is on, i guess its the pipe going from the faucet to the shower head, i guess there is no other way to fix it than to tear the wall from behind. also, what exactly do you use to secure a pipe?

There is usually enough room behind the pipe to the showerhead to install a 2x4 accross between the wall studs. They make various types of pipe support clamps depending on what type pipe you have.Good luck and post back.
