 I'm resending this as the bulletin board seemed to have had a hiccup... Apologies if this shows up twice
What is the maximum permissible gap between two sheets of drywall ? The room I'm doing is anything but square, and I've spent countless hours doing trigonometry and linear algebra to cut the sheets at the correct angle so they will fit nicely. However I did screw up somewhere in the math and I'm left with 1/4'' gaps on a couple of areas. Can I get away with joint compound or should I reboard ?
Also, is there a quicker technique to determine how to fit a 8x4 sheet of drywall into an angle that is not quite 90 degrees ?
Thanks !

You'll be fine as long as you prefill the 1/4" gaps prior to taping. I'd recommend picking up a bag of quick-set mud for this purpose, it'll set harder and be less likely to crack out on you.
The easy way to tight fit sheets on a wall or whatever that's not quite square, measure both ends, transfer the measurements to your sheet, (making sure you have the right measurement on the right end), pull out your trusty chalkline , snap you a line & then cut your sheet. If possible put the cut edges either to a corner or to the ceiling/wall joint or else towards the floor.
Hope that helps! :)
