I'm finishing my basement. I've set my basement walls tight on the floor via a bottom plate and to the floor joist above via a top plate. I'm being told that I should have left a gap for the concrete floor to heav. Should I go back a cut a 1/2" gap for concrete floor expansion? The House is 1 yr old and I don't have water issues.

I think you'll be fine if it's gone a full yr w/o any problems, no cracks in the floor I assume, correct.
