The new guy at the local paint shop says I can use BM Latex Floor & Patio Enamel over previouly painted flat latex on drywall
Is going in a restroom (actually, the bottom 1/3, under the chair rail molding), and must be extremely scrubable/durable
This is the local place I trust the owner and his #2 man totally
But this is the new guy...
I'm a little hesitant and would like a second opinion please
Does this sound like it could work or more like a "it seemed like a good idea at the time" fiasco?
Thanks in advance for any opinions

Never used it in that manner. But latex floor & patio paint is very durable and intended for high traffic areas and is very scrubable.

I've never seen it done before, but there is no reason why it wouldn't work. Why don't you try it out for us and let us know if it works. :D
If its a public restroom, I always use an epoxy for the durability, because if its public, it will take some MAJOR abuse.

Thanks for the input guys
I couldn't try it today as it's in a cafe and the waitstaff got all freaked I was closing the ladies room "...on a wednesday"
I guess wednesday's their busiest weekday
Who knew?
I'll try tommorrow
'course I'll probably get "...you're not doing that on a Thursday, are you?"
LOL
Oh well, their boss-lady will be in tommorrow and she wants this done
By the way, she doesn't want this in the men's room, she doesn't have a problem in there, just the ladies
What ARE those ladies doing in there?
LOL
I'll post back,
---g.p.

Offer the owner to do it at night, and charge $$$ accordingly.

Oh, I did make that offer
I did some work in the "Main Dining Area" on a Sunday night (the deadest)
Not realizing that the two most beautiful, coolest, waitresses work that shift
I'd do it again for straight-time, or maybe as a favor (ssshhh-don't tell)
Boss-lady didn't bite this time
She wants it done pronto

Well the second coat went up today
Looks great
2 coats of brick was fine (over pale yellow)
Dries REAL fast
That was helpful as I could have the rest room closed for a minimum of time after I finished
But I think in a large room you would have to be very careful
I mean fast, like I really felt I could have put up the second coat after an hour of drying time-I didn't-but boy it seemed like a coulda
I've got some leftover, maybe I'll test it out
Oh yeah, no one said anything about me being there "...on a Thurs/Fri."
I'll stop in next week after the molding's up and check it out, maybe spill something on it and see how it cleans up...lol
Thanks guys,

Boy did that work
I stopped into the cafe to check on the floor paint on the walls
It's stuck there but good
Not only is it super-scrub-able, it's un-scuff-able
I started wacking it with the handle of my putty knife (until a wave of sense came over me)
I couldn't even dent it
Now I feel I have to put 2 coats on some drywall pieces I have in the shed and do some destructive testing heh heh...
