I just moved into a duplex and have had the hardwood floors refinished with polyurethane. Lately, in certain areas the finish is sticking to the bottoms of my feet and peeling/flaking up.
This has only happened upstairs, which happens to be the only place we've unpacked and made liveable. So it's the one place that's seen by far the most foot-traffic, especially barefoot just out of shower still wet foot traffic. It's also the only place we've cleaned using clorox readymop "safe for wood" orange scented cleaner. Could that be the problem? Like I said, it's only doing it in some places.
At this point, I'm just looking for suggestions. Is it moisture from our feet? It only seems to stick when my feet are bare and kinda wet, just out of the shower or sweaty.
Is it the cleaner? Are they just bad spots? Is it possible we paid for shoddy work?
