Hello All,

Purchasing a new house, 8 years young. Has whirlpool tub in master bath. How do I clean out the jets and whirlpool system? I've heard of mixing bleach with water and running, is that true? In addition, I have septic, bleach isn't good for septic is it? (probably another forum for that)..Thanks

Dan

Most Whirlpool manufacturers have a set of instructions for cleaning. Find the name brand of your tub and check the net for cleaning instructions. Bleach is not good for septic tanks and may also mess up the piping on your tub or the motor. Good luck and post back.

I know this sounds funny, but try not to use soaps, bubble bath or oils in your spa. The soaps and oils leave a residue on the sides of the pipes like soap scum. The fast moving water & bubbles knocks off the soap scum and you get nasty little flakes in the water.

Bathtubs are great for bubble bath, soap and nice smelling oils. Hot tubs & spas like nice clean water.
